United Nations: China has obstructed the action of the United Nations against Abdul Rehman Makki. He is facing serious charges of raising funds for terrorist activities, turning youth into extremists and using them for terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. India and the United States had jointly proposed action on Makki at the Security Council. China has put its case on a ‘technical hold’ by abusing its powers. Sources in the government have given clear indications that India will react strongly to this.
China has shown its duplicity in the fight against terrorism by obstructing Security Council’s action against notorious international terrorists like Abdul Rehman Makki. As a result, China has exposed itself internationally, raising questions about its credibility, said Indian government sources. India has not yet commented on the matter. But it could affect India’s relations with China. Earlier, China had blocked Security Council action against the leaders of Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations under the pretext of technical reasons.
India has strongly condemned China’s irresponsible actions. India has said that China is protecting terrorists by preventing them from taking action against the leaders of terrorist organizations carrying out massacres in India. But China had tried to defend itself with various technical reasons.
