Ex-US president Donald Trump indicted – Trump calls it political persecution

Washington – Former US President Donald Trump has been indicted in New York. This is the first time in history that a case has been filed against the President of the United States (current or former). Manhattan District Attorneys in New York have said in their allegation that Trump had paid a model to keep her mouth shut during the 2016 presidential election campaign. One hundred and thirty thousand dollars was given through Trump’s ex-lawyer, Michael Cohen, so the corresponding model would not be readable anywhere. Cohen admitted this matter in the inquiry held in 2019. The money given to the model was shown as funds used for the election campaign. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office has investigated and filed a charge sheet against Trump in this matter.

Trump claimed it was political persecution. Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican, slammed the indictment against Trump as the ‘weaponization’ of the judiciary. Meanwhile, sources informed that Trump would have to appear before the court next week after the charge sheet is filed and he will be formally arrested.
