China represents generational threat to UK, warns former MI6 chief

London: – Former Chief of British Intelligence Service MI6, Sir Alex Younger, warned, ‘In the coming times, the differences with China, on the ideological level, will aggravate. In that scenario, the future generations in the United Kingdom might face a huge threat from the Chinese communist ideology.’ Younger suggested that if this threat is to be averted, the United Kingdom will have to take the lead in the technology and science sectors.

In the next few hours, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be presenting a report regarding security in the UK Parliament. The report will highlight important issues posing a challenge to the United Kingdom on the economic and diplomatic fronts. A part of the report has already appeared in the news reports in some newspapers. A British newspaper claimed that the report speaks about the perceived threats from China and Russia.

Against this background, Sir Alex Younger, who retired from the MI6 last year, said that there is a huge threat to British security from China while talking to a radio channel. China, which is an emerging superpower, cannot be expected to have courteous behaviour. Because the communist Chinese government will preach its communist ideology more intensely after becoming a superpower, the ideological differences between the United Kingdom and China will be aggravated. Younger warned that this would increase competition between the two countries, and mutual belief will diminish.

If these threats from China are to be countered, the United Kingdom will have to answer China in the language that China understands. The former MI6 chief suggested that the United Kingdom will have to work on new concepts in technology and increase its strength and strengthen the front with its allies. It is being predicted that the report presented in the British Parliament on Wednesday will also sing the same tune.

Since the last few weeks, military analysts and think tanks are drawing the government’s attention to the increasing Chinese influence in British politics and educational institutions. Simultaneously, military analysts suggest that the United Kingdom should focus on India and increase its investments in the Indo-Pacific sector.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has announced that it will be sending its aircraft carrier to the South China Sea for patrolling. HMS Queen Elizabeth will reach the sector by the end of this year, which has made China extremely restless.
