Abuja: – Boko Haram, the terrorist organisation from Nigeria carried out a horrifying massacre of 43 farmers. A disgusting report has been received that these farmers were tied up and their throats were slit by the terrorists, near the Maiduguri town. The Nigerian President has expressed severe grief over the incident and has called the massacre an inhuman act. The local agencies claimed that this massacre in Maiduguri is the biggest and the most heinous terrorist attack in the year. The terrorists entered the Koshobe village near the Maiduguri town, on Saturday. The terrorists captured 60 people sleeping in the rice field. Out of these 50 people were tied up and throats of 43 people were slit by the terrorists. Six are critically injured and locals informed that the other farmers are missing. These farmers had come to this region, from Sokoto province, for contract farming.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has given an intense reaction over the massacre. President Buhari said ‘The entire country has been rocked because of the incident in the Borno province. The terrorists cruelly killed the hard-working farmers. This inhuman act is deplorable.’ A few days ago, some farmers from this village had captured a terrorist, from Boko haram, and handed him over to the agencies. The local groups claimed that this attack was to avenge that action. Boko Haram an affiliate of the terrorist organisation Al Qaeda, is considered to be the most dangerous terrorist organisation in Nigeria. The organisation formed in the last decade has spread its wings even in Chad and Niger. Nearly 30,000 people have been killed in the attacks, carried out by this organisation and more than 2 million citizens were forced to migrate. Over the last few years, the Nigerian military has carried out massive campaigns against Boko Haram, claiming to have finished the organisation.
Along with Nigeria, Chad too claimed to have weakened the organisation. But these successive attacks show that the claims made by both these countries are futile. Instead, following such claims, Boko Haram is demonstrating its might by carrying out bigger and crueller attacks. A report published by the US defence department, only a few days ago, had pointed out that terrorism is increasing in the African continent. Two days ago, a dreadful blast carried out by Al Shabab, in Somalia, and the inhuman massacre carried out by Boko Haram, in Nigeria, only endorse the report.
