Arab nations assisted United States to kill Soleimani, accuses Iran Defence Chief

Tehran: Arab nations that assisted the United States in the assassination of Iran Quds Force Major General Qasem Soleimani must prepare for its repercussion, warned Iran Defence Chief, Major General Mohammad Bagheri. Moreover, all the US-ally nations from the Middle East were involved in this killing, he further accused. A year ago, the United States targeted and launched a drone attack on General Soleimani’s car when he departed from Baghdad International Airport. Alongside Soleimani, the attack also killed senior leaders of Iran militant outfit. Soleimani was the chief of Iranian Quds forces. The then US President Donald Trump carried this attack, as he said that Soleimani was a threat to the United States’ security. This assassination greatly shocked Iran.

Iran had threatened to avenge Soleimani’s assassination. Thus, the Iran army official had declared to attack the US army bases in Iraq. After that, the US bases in Iraq were attacked as well. But, Iran Defence Chief Major General Bagheri has accused Arab nations of assisting the United States in General Soleimani’s assassination. ‘Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Bahrain provided intel to the United States. Besides, the drones that flew from Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq attacked Soleimani’s car. Soleimani was sitting in an armoured vehicle. This information was provided to the United States by Arab nations. Hence, the United States used attacks that would penetrate through that vehicle,’ slammed Bagheri. Moreover, he said that the Arab nations must be held accountable for assisting the United States in the Soleimani killing.   

Meanwhile, this is the first time Iran has openly accused Arab nations of the Soleimani killing.
