American out-of-control woke leftism, cancel culture is threat to France - French intellectuals, leaders incl Macron

Paris/Washington: – The uncontrolled hypocritical leftist ideology is being imported into France from the United States. French President Emmanuel Macron warned that this is a major threat for the country. Repercussions are already being felt in France. Marine Le Pen, the political opponent of President Macron, also has supported this stand. At the same time, more than 100 philosophers from France issued an open letter saying that the hypocritical leftist ideology and the boycott culture being imported from the United States are a threat to the country’s very existence.

Last year, the African American actors in the famous French opera issued a letter indicating an ethnic diversity in the company. Taking cognisance of the letter, Alexander Neef, the opera’s new chief, published a report. The report promised place for citizens of every ethnicity in the opera. Simultaneously, assured that the blackface, which is a sensitive issue, will not be used in the company’s works. The report published by Neef has brought the issue of incorrect US ideological influence on the anvil.

Leading French daily, Le Monde, expressed severe resentment saying that France is following the path of the United States. Editor Michelle Guerin criticised that the tendency of self-imposed restrictions on actors and program content to avoid offending anyone is on the rise. Leading opposition leader, Marine Le Pen, also lashed out at Neef’s decision. Pen retorted that this only shows how foolish is the behaviour of the liberals under the pretext of opposing racism.

The influence of US ideologies and agitations in France has been a topic of discussion since the last year. Rallies were organised in France to support the ‘Black Lives Matter’ agitation in the United States. The issue was not limited only to demonstrations, and the French groups started targeting the universities in the country. Incidents like pressurising that a particular speaker should not be invited and the white students acting in dramas should not use masks or dark makeup were taking place.

The French philosophers, along with the political circles, took serious cognisance of the developments. President Macron went to the extent of referring directly to the United States’ ideologies and cautioned against it. Whereas, French Education Minister, Jean-Michel Blanquer, warned that France would have to fight the ideologies coming from the US universities shortly. Many philosophers in France have supported this through an open letter.

French historian Pierre-Andre Tagif said raising the issue of African Americans on the lines of the United States is an entirely artificial thing. French sociologist Nathalie Heinich has formed a group to contest the wrong influences coming from the United States. Hypocritical leftist ideology being imported in France from the United States is being opposed not only in France but also in other European countries, including Germany. Only last week, German leftist leader Sahra Wagenknecht has issued a stern warning that if the leftist groups do not give up their fake intolerant stand, Germany also will have the atmosphere of an extreme divide, like the United States.
