11 Taliban militants killed in Afghan airstrike

Kabul: Eleven Taliban terrorists have been slain in action carried out by the Afghan Armed Forces in Faryab Province, Afghanistan. Moreover, the 209th Shaheen Army Corps has informed about having destroyed the Taliban base. Two days ago, the Afghan Armed Forces had killed 44 Taliban terrorists. This action of the Afghan Armed Forces against the Taliban, as the Afghan Armed Forces-Taliban peace talk drew close, draws attention.

On Sunday, the Afghan Armed Forces carried out airstrikes over the Taliban base in Qarma Qul, Faryab Province in Afghanistan. Eleven Taliban militants were killed in this attack. Moreover, the Taliban base was destroyed as well. However, the Taliban has not commented on this incident. Recently, the Afghan Armed Forces had killed 44 Taliban insurgents in Kunduz Province, Afghanistan. The Afghan Armed Forces have also recaptured the regions that were controlled by the Taliban.    

The peace talks between the Afghanistan government and the Taliban is going to begin soon. Moreover, the Afghan government has established a special council for this. At the same time, the conflict has sparked between the Afghan Armed Forces and Taliban. Thus, the peace talks between the two are considered to be doubtful.    

Meanwhile, The New York Times accused that the Taliban has threatened the peace-deal by attacking the US bases in Afghanistan. Last week, this Daily released the news of the Taliban attacking the US base in Afghanistan by interviewing a US Official. The story mentioned that by launching missile attacks at the US base in Afghanistan, the Taliban had brought the peace deal under threat. However, the Taliban has dismissed responsibility for the attack.
