Srinagar: Three Central Reserve Police force (CRPF) soldiers were martyred in a terror attack on the patrol unit in the Kupwara district of Kashmir. On Monday in the evening, soldiers from the 92 CRPF Battalion were on their patrolling duty in Handwara. The terrorists, who came in a car, launched a grenade attack. The terrorists started indiscriminate firing at the soldiers. The terrorists escaped when the soldiers started firing in retaliation. But three CRPF soldiers had died on the spot. The names of the martyred soldiers are Constable Kumar Mishra, Constable Ashwini Yadav and Constable Chandrashekhar. Seven CRPF soldiers were injured in the attack, out of which three are said to be in a critical condition. It is being said that one local also was killed in the attack.

The terrorist organisation TRF has accepted the responsibility of the attack. This organisation has started increasing its foothold in Jammu-Kashmir since India abrogated article 370. Within a few hours of this Monday attack, the terrorists launched a grenade attack on the CRPF convoy in Budgam on Tuesday. One soldier was martyred and four soldiers were injured in the attack. The terrorists also launched a grenade attack on the CRPF patrol unit in Srinagar and one CRPF soldier was injured in this attack. On Saturday around midnight, five Indian soldiers, including a senior officer, were killed in an encounter with the terrorists, in Handwara. The responsibility of this attack was also accepted by the TRF unit of terrorist organisation Lashkar.

Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba are making frantic efforts to carry out terrorist attacks in Jammu-Kashmir. The peaceful atmosphere in Jammu-Kashmir, since the abrogation of Article 370, 10 months ago, is making Pakistan and the terrorist organisations restless. Pakistan is consistently resorting to cross border firing, with an intention to provide a cover for terrorist infiltration. The Indian soldiers are giving a fitting reply to the Pakistani firing. The intelligence agencies have warned that the infiltration attempts will increase in view of the melting icecaps in Kashmir.
