Moscow: At least 13 people were killed in an indiscriminate shooting at a school in Izhevsk, Russia. It includes seven small children. Russian media informed that the attacker was identified as Artem Kazantsev and was wearing clothes with Nazi symbols. This is the past five month’s second mass shooting at a school in Russia. In the last two years, seven mass shooting incidents have been reported in Russia, where more than 40 people have died.

The attacker, Artem, barged into the school with two loaded pistols. After intruding, he indiscriminately started firing at the person he saw, along with the school security guards. Seven children, along with two teachers and two security guards, were killed. After that, the attacker committed suicide by shooting himself, Russian authorities informed.

The aim behind the attack has not been clear still, and no other form of evidence has been found other than the Nazi symbol on the clothes the assailant wore. In the years 2021 and 2022, seven incidents of mass shootings have been reported, in which 43 have been killed. Three of these attacks have taken place in schools. Monday’s incident in Izhevsk has become the incident that conveys the highest number of deaths in the past three years.
